Airtel unveils fixed broadband internet

One of the country’s mobile phone operators, Airtel Malawi, on Friday unveiled broadband internet which seeks to provide quick internet solutions to Malawians.

The launch took place in Malawi’s commercial capital, Blantyre and was graced by Minister of Information Patricia Kaliati.

Speaking during the launch, Airtel Malawi Managing Director, Charles Kamoto, described the event as a milestone by his firm in fulfilling its commitment in providing quality internet services and corporate connectivity.

“This is another step up for us as we strive to make internet access and corporate connectivity easy and widely accessible while at the same time being a one stop shop with our broadband and voice on post-paid and prepaid.

“We are now on the right path to convergence of service delivery from contracting to bill delivery in a turnkey solution.

We believe that we will provide a service that organisations need, offering endless opportunities for innovations to our valued customers,” said Kamoto.

He pledged his company’s commitment to continue working hard to ensure that it keeps Malawi at the forefront of groundbreaking communication technologies.

“We are, therefore, committed to keeping you ahead by providing you with the latest technological trends alongside a network that is reliable and of superior quality,” added Kamoto.

In her remarks, Kaliati hailed Airtel Malawi for its continued commitment towards improving ICT services in the country.

She appealed to the company to consider connecting some of the country’s institutions of higher learning as well as hospitals with the broadband internet to ease some of the technological challenges the facilities face.
