Moyale Barracks camp in Lilongwe

Moyale Barracks FC have arrived in Lilongwe for camp training ahead of Saturday’s Presidential Cup final against Nyasa Big Bullets at Civo Stadium.

Collins Nkuna, coach for The Lions of Kaning’ina, confirmed that his charges are camping at Kamuzu Barracks.

Nkuna said it was difficult training at Mzuzu Stadium due to heavy rains.

“With the weather condition here in Mzuzu, it will be difficult to train. We have left for Lilongwe for my boys to adapt to the weather condition in the Capital City. Apart from that, we would like to make sure that we prepare well and grab this cup,” he said.

The People’s Team grabbed the Presidential Cup in 2012 when they beat Moyale 1-0, thanks to Gabadinho Mhango’s first-half strike.

Meanwhile, Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has changed tune on the entrance fee for the final.

Initially, Fam planned to peg the match at K2, 000 for open terraces, but the association’s Commercial Director, Limbani Matola, said the fee is now K1, 000.

“Following a meeting on Monday, Fam president Walter Nyamilandu told us not hike the game fees beyond K 1, 000. So yes we have reduced the entrance fee whereby the Covered Stand is pegged at K3, 000 and K 5,000 for the VIP. We have done this as part of 52nd Independence Celebrations. We want all Malawians to go and watch final”.
