One of the country’s freight forwarding giants, Bollore Logistics, on Friday bade farewell to its long-serving Managing Director, Roderick Phiri, during a colourful event held at Ryalls Hotel in Blantyre.
Bollore Regional Managing Director, Tony Stenning, hailed Phiri for his contribution to the growth and development of the company over the years.
“We would like to thank Phiri for his dedication and commitment to excellence during his tenure at the helm of the Bollore operations in Malawi.
“Although he is retiring as managing director, he will still be with us as non executive board chairman,” said Stenning.
Phiri bows out of Bollore after serving the company for close to 40 years. He has since been replaced by Phillippe Niamkey.
In his farewell speech, Phiri thanked the company’s shareholders as well as employees for the support given to him over the years.
He also hailed the company’s customers for their continued support to the firm.
“As I retire today, I can comfortably say I am leaving a company which has a great future. With the hard work of the members of staff and commitment to continued growth by the shareholders, I see nothing that could stop the company from reaching greater heights,” said Phiri.
