TNM Friday opened VIP Business Service Suite at the Bingu International Conference Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.

Speaking during the launch of the suite, TNM Chief Executive Officer, Douglas Stevenson, said the suite is the hub that will support the mobile Internet and ICT needs of people in Lilongwe and surrounding areas.

He said it is centrally located for ease of access and that the needs of business and conference travellers were also considered in setting up the establishment.

“On one hand, we are introducing a superior network backbone to support mobile data, and on the other, a platform where the services, products and superior technology will be accessed,” Stevenson said.

“The suite offers comfort and ease of accessibility to mobile technology. This suite fits into TNM’s transformation drive from traditionally being the provider of voice, data and messaging services to a fully-fledged ICT company. Most of the products which this suite is offering have helped to break this mould as they very much focus on the business aspect and in the majority of circumstances do not require a handset,” Stevenson explained.

In her remarks, Minister of ICT & Civic Education, Patricia Kaliati said the opening of the facility is a historic moment for the people of Lilongwe adding that the new facility underscores TNM’s commitment to continually invest in Malawi’s ICT sector.

Kaliati said the suite has been designated to host and support a number of innovative and cutting-edge communication technologies and services such as Call Centre and Video Conferencing.
