Two DJs namely DJ Ghetto Fresh, real name Godfrey Mphasa, and Ernest Nkhoma, alias Ernie the DJ, have made it through to the national final of the Carlsberg Chill DJ battle slated for August in Lilongwe.
The two impressed the judges with their skills during the second round of the competition in Mzuzu.
Carlsberg Malawi senior brands manager, Twikale Chirwa, said six DJs battled it out during the second round and that all the DJs did well on the night.
“As Carlsberg Malawi we are happy with the way things are going in the competition. We had the first rounds in the three regions where the best were selected for the second round and so now we are in the second round before we get to the grand final. Having done the second round in Blantyre and Mzuzu, we are remaining with Lilongwe,” said Chirwa.
This year has seen female DJs participating for the first time with DJ Shorty in Blantyre making it to the second round but failed to make it to the final.
Having made it to the national final, Ernie the DJ and DJ Ghetto Fresh have joined DJs Trick and Five, who already made it through to the final representing the Southern region.
