Sunbird Capital Hotel in Lilongwe last Sunday played host to a Children’s Future Festival organised by the organsers of Lake of Stars Festival.
The festival is aimed at giving a chance to children to showcase their talent but also get to discuss different issues affecting their lives. According to Fran Jameson, the festival which debuted last year lived up to its billing attracting close to 2,500 people.
This year, one of the festival’s key themes was raising awareness of the rights of people with albinism, who are currently suffering severe discrimination in the country.
The festival is supported by Unicef Malawi and Timveni and forms part of the celebrations for the 2016 Day of the African Child
