Epac FC have vowed to build on their three-game winning streak in the TNM Super League to avoid a repeat of last season’s struggles.
On Saturday, Epac earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over Mafco at Civo Stadium in Lilongwe, courtesy of Anthony Banda.
Epac coach, Audloy Makonyola, believes his charges have regained confidence having also defeated Mzuni and Karonga United in previous weeks.
“Overall, I would say the team is playing well and we would like to maintain our good form. We know the challenge before us, but we have the quality players to do the job for the team,” the former Eagles Strikers coach said.
Epac have since moved to position six on the log table with 16 points from 10 games, 14 points from equaling their last season’s points tally.
Last season, Epac survived relegation on the last day when they beat Dedza Young Soccer 2-1 at Civo Stadium.
In other games on Saturday, Silver Strikers drew 0-0 against Kamuzu Barracks at Silver Stadium, whereas Karonga United lost 1-0 to Azam Tigers at Mzuzu Stadium. Blue Eagles are still leading with 21 points from nine games.
