As one way of improving service delivery, National Bank of Malawi (NBM) has just spent about K450 million to refurbish and upgrade its Mangochi and Salima service centres.
The bank has built a new service centre in Salima to the tune of K240 million and upgraded and extended the Mangochi Service Centre at a cost of K180 million.
NBM Corporate Affairs Manager, Annie Magola, said in an interview that as a bank, they believe in adding value to their customers hence the decision to refurbish the two service centres.
“Some of these service centres were built many years ago and because we consider our customers as our most valuable resource, we found it necessary to undergo a programme of re-branding Salima Service Centre and making some extension at the Mangochi Service Centre.”
She said the new Salima Service Centre is much bigger than the old one and offers more convenience and conducive customer service environment to NBM customers.
“In Mangochi, the project started in June 2015 and was projected to finish within a period of six months but due to many challenges we encountered, the project was completed in March 2016.”
“We increased the banking hall space and introduced more counters in order to provide more banking space for our clients. This was in appreciation of the growing of business in the two districts and also in preparation for the take on of Indebank customers after the integration process,” said Magola.
