Silver Strikers believe their target of realising 30 points in the first round is on track after climbing to the TNM Super League summit over the weekend.
The Central Bankers displaced Blue Eagles at the top after beating Epac FC 2-0 at Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday.
Silver have 19 points from nine games, a single point above Capital City rivals, Eagles, who were on bye last weekend.
Blessings Tembo and substitute Binwell Katinji netted a goal each in the last five minutes of the match.
In a post-match interview on Saturday, Silver assistant coach, Lovemore Fazili, said collecting 30 points in the first round would be enough for his side.
“We are ambitious this season and we have set ourselves a target in the first round. We are really positive that we can achieve that,” Fazili said.
Despite a sluggish start to the season when they lost two opening games, Silver have won six games and drawn once.
They defeated Civo United (2-1) and Wizards FC (2-1), Karonga United (3-0), Eagles (2-1), Red Lions (2-1) and Epac (2-0). They were held to goal-less draw by Mzuni FC.
Since the Super League started, Silver have won it eight times second to Nyasa Big Bullets, who have 13 titles.
Last season, Silver endured a miserable campaign when they finished on position five in the league.
