Boxer Kudakwache Nkhakamila Banda has challenged Chikondi Makawa for his featherweight title at M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe on June 26.
Hosts Don King Boxing Promotions Managing Director, Antonio Dzilimbile, said they want to give Makawa a chance to defend his title in the 12-round bout.
“It’s high time that he defended his belt. We believe that this is an opportunity for him to prove to the nation that he deserves the belt,” he said.
“Kudakwache and Makawa are good boxers and we hope it will be one of the most entertaining bouts.”
Makawa won the belt after beating Limbani Masamba early this year.
Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board (MPBCB) chairperson, Lonzoe Zimba, confirmed to have sanctioned the bout,” Dzilimbile said.
The centre will also host five supporting bouts with Robert Kachiza facing Yohane Banda, Enerst Chipanda challenging Yamikani Mkandawire, whereas Lucy Phiri takes on Eneless Mkwanthi.
Yobe Kamnyunya wil l meet Obet Makaika, whereas Yusuf Christopher face Lameck Nkangama.
