Reggie group Black Missionaries and legendary musician Lucius Banda popularly known as Soldier are the giants in the country’s music circle and whenever they perform on the same stage there are always fireworks.
The two groups will Friday night share the stage once more in a TNM Music Bash to be held at BAT ground in Blantyre.
The music bash is part of hyping up the TNM Super League which kicks off this weekend.
Black Missionaries’ lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani said yesterday that they were ready for the music bash adding that as musicians they have also always loved soccer.
“We are prepared for the music bash. As Black Missionaries and Anthony Makondetsa we love soccer and you may wish to know that music and football always go together. Those who love music also love soccer,” said Anjiru.
He also said that they have always been in a good relationship with TNM and that they have always been part of the launches.
The reggae group prides in composing TNM theme songs ‘TNM Moto,’ and ‘Tangosambani.’
“This again is a platform for us musicians to entertain the people as well as network and we are excited that we will be performing with our brothers Lucius Banda and Dan Lu among others,” he said.
Dan Lu fani also said he is prepared for the show and looking forward to the best.
“This is my first show as I am fresh from the UK tour. I am happy to be part of this event and can’t wait to get on stage,” said the ‘Shupie’ and ‘Part of Life,’ star.
TNM Public Relations and Sponsorship Manager, Limbani Nsapato said all was set for the launch of the 2016 season.
He said to mark the launch of the 2016 league, they decided to hold a number of activities aimed at creating fun and entertainment.
“We decided to get musical owing to the century old linkage between football and music. Music has always been pivotal for fans in the act of cheering their teams across the globe,” said Nsapato.
He said the entry fee for the music bash is almost free as people will enter upon buying K500 worth of TNM airtime at the gate.
He added that two acts for the night, Black Missionaries and Lucius Banda have previously produced theme songs for the TNM Super League.
