Acting President of the former ruling people’s party has once again asked Finance Minister Goodall Gondwe and Agriculture minister Allan Chiyembekeza to resign saying they are failing the nation.
Mussa was speaking Sunday in Makhetha, Blantyre where he addressed a political rally highlighting some of the challenges the country was facing.
Mussa said the way things are in the country Gondwe and Chiyembekeza could have been fired if they were serving in another country that considers government affairs as serious business.
“There is nothing happening in the country, finance minister is failing to find solutions to the social-economic challenges so he is not helping so why should he continue serving as finance minister? Equally agriculture minister should resign because he is not saying anything on how government will tackle the hunger situation,” he said.
Responding to the issues raised, Minister of Information Jappie Mhango said he was not surprised that Mussa is making such statements because he has never said anything good about government.
“You see the likes of Uladi Mussa are just full of greed, why should the ministers resign? Is he the president? Recently the IMF said the economy is on the right track and he did not say anything good about it … he will still attack government, he is naïve,” Mhango said.
