Murray into Australian Open final, beats injured Milos Raonic

Via a deft backhand volley across court and a Milos Raonic over-hit, Andy Murray sailed into his fifth Australian Open final beating Canadian opponent.

Murray won 4-6 7-5 6-7 (4-7) 6-4 6-2 to beat Raonic, who won the Brisbane title earlier this season, and had not lost a match this year.

Raonic delayed his first taste of 2016 defeat as he pinged back volleys from Murray.

Murray though toyed with Raonic like a small boy pulling the wings off a fly.

He dragged Milos Raonic left and right at the back of the court, before testing the ailing Canadian’s movement up court with a teasing drop-shot.

Raonic earlier on stopped play for a medical check on his upper leg and the injury left him handicapped for the rest of the match.

Murray faces Novak Djokovic on Sunday in the final.
