George Charamba told Zimbabwe’s The Herald newspaper that online reports were a ‘grim lie’ meant to earn money for the websites that published it.
Charamba says there is no doubt that there will be a story on the president’s alleged death each January.
He adds the government is exploring ways to deal with false stories published by external websites.
