Fisd Wizards plead with Sulom over fixtures

Fisd Wizards have pleaded with Super League of Malawi (Sulom) to consider spreading the rookies’ remaining TNM Super League four fixtures.

Wizards’ chairperson, Mike Tembo, Tuesday wrote to Sulom following the revised fixtures indicating that the newcomers have to play three games in seven days against Be Forward Wanderers on December 13, Bullets on December 16 and Blue Eagles on December 19.

“While we have space of more than three weeks to have the games split over, we have noted that you have given us three games within seven days,” Tembo said yesterday.

“Without dictating to your office, we humbly request that you consider taking out our mid-week game against Big Bullets to the very last week of the league games which is 26th December, 2015.”

Tembo said the game against Bullets “will help us raise funds apart from being one of the most crucial games to us. However, you still have a chance of playing around with the fixture and give us some extended time other than playing three crucial games in seven days.”

Sulom has rescheduled second round games in view of Malawi national football team’s Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup exit following a 2-0 quarter-final loss to Uganda in Ethiopia on Monday.

The Flames participation as Cecafa guests led to the exemption from games of some clubs such as league leaders, Bullets, who contributed the most players—Yamikani Fodya, Dalitso Sailesi, Miracle Gabeya, Pilirani Zonda, Sankhani Mkandawire and Chiukepo Msowoya—to the Flames.

Bullets, who are guaranteed Super League championship with games in hand, return to action when being hosted by fourth-placed Blue Eagles on Sunday.

Eagles welcome back Schumacher Kuwali and John Banda, whereas struggling Wanderers have been boosted by Stanley Sanudi, Richard Chipuwa and Isaac Kaliyati
