Flames defender Limbikani Mzava might not make his debut for Mpumalanga Black Aces, instead he could play for Amazulu FC next season following reports that the latter have purchased the former’s Premier Soccer League status.
Amazulu were relegated to the National First Division from the Premier Soccer League at the end of the 2014/15 season.
On Wednesday South Africa’s leading soccer publications, kick off and Soccer Laduma reported that the two teams have agreed on the deal.
According to www.kickoff. com, the deal would be announced on Thursday while www. soccerladuma.com reported on Wednesday that some of Aces new signings, including Mzava could also be included in the deal.
“A source close to Amazulu confirmed that some of the new signings made by Aces will be relocating to Kwazulu-Natal to play for Amazulu in the 2015/16 season,” reported the publication.
“Some of the players that have been signed by Aces are coming to Amazulu as part of the deal. Shu- Aib Walters is one of them. The others include Siyabonga Ngubane and Mzava,”
When contacted yesterday, the former Escom United and Azam Tigers defender expressed ignorance on the matter.
“I don’t know anything about that,” said Mzava in a written response.
If the deal is concluded, it means Aces will be playing in the National First Division next season.
The Flames defender joined Aces from Bloemfontein Celtic after signing a three-year deal.
Mzava played for Celtic for more than three seasons after joining the club from Escom United (now Kabula United).
