Tazizwa Kasambara, who won the “Carry Your Dream” competition run by Kia Motors, is today scheduled to leave for Russia where he will be the Official Match Ball Carrier (OMBC) for the Fifa World Cup match between Morocco and Iran on Friday.

Kasambara shared his excitement upon winning the competition, stating that he trained very hard to win the OMBC title.

“I am so happy to be the Official Match Ball Carrier. My victory comes from training everyday which helped me in the run-and-kick exercise” Kasambara said, adding that he hopes to meet Argentina Captain Lionel Messi.

The 10-year-old outshone 19 other opponents during the competition, which HTD Limited, who are suppliers of Kia vehicles in Malawi, facilitated.

HTD Chief Executive Officer, Harris Sidik, said he was delighted that the winner would represent Malawi at the World Cup.

“Inspite of Malawi not making it to the World Cup, we have some representation through Tazizwa and we are proud of him for being an ambassador at such a big event,” Sidik said.
