A week after youths suspected to be Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) members terrorised Parliament, police are yet to arrest people in connection with the matter.
National Police spokesperson, James Kadadzera, Thursday said law enforcers are investigating the matter.
“As police, what we can say is that we are following the matter with keen interest,” he said
Youths suspected to be DPP Cadets were, on May 4 2018, during the opening of the budget meeting of Parliament, caught harassing Mulanje West legislator Patricia Kaliati, blocking her from entering the august House. The youth also manhandled a photojournalist who was on duty.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has called on authorities to investigate and, where relevant, prosecute perpetrators of the violent acts.
