Chitipa United Coach, Kondwani Mwalweni, has said it is too early for his team to set TNM Super League targets.
The team, according to Mwalweni, is still adapting to life in the top-flight league.
He argued that his team lacks “comprehensive” experience.
As such, he said, setting a target will put his squad under pressure.
Mwalweni said this after his charges succumbed to a 0-2 defeat against a spirited Premier Bet Wizards side at Mulanje Park Stadium on Saturday.
“The whole team comprises players without Super League experience. This is a youthful team. So, it will be good for them [players] if we try to take game by game.
“Sometimes setting a target early in the season like this is not healthy. As such, I feel that we have to take our time and see where we will end up at the end [of the season],” he said.
Chitipa frustrated Nyasa Big Bullets to a barren stalemate during their first-ever Super League game last week.
However on Saturday, Misheck Bottoman and Niyikiza Amable scored for the Peter Mponda’s side on Saturday to hand Chitipa the loss.
