Malawi National Football Team, the Flames, have refused to be shaken by the fact that their hosts in tomorrow’s game— Madagascar—have named a strong 24-member squad.
Madagascar’s French Coach, Raux Auguste, released the squad on Wednesday ahead of the first leg, first round of the African Nations Championship (Chan) qualifiers at the Stade Municipal Mahamasina .
Madagascar squad include serial scorer, Jeannot Vombola, who top-scored in the 2015 Cosafa Castle Cup in South Africa to attract interest from clubs such as Jomo Cosmos.
However, Malawi Team Manager, Peter Mponda, insisted that the Ronny van Geneugden’s charges were eager to defeat Madagascar.
Malawi arrived in Madagascar on Wednesday after stopping over in Kenya for a friendly which ended 0-0 the previous day.
The winner between Malawi and Madagascar will date Mozambique over two legs in July.
Thereafter, the overall winner will qualify for the third and final round in August with Mauritius, Seychelles and Angola as likely opponents.
