Zambia, Malawi meet

They wish they could be the ones showered with such monetary rewards because they deserve to lay their hands on the loot, too. Standing in their way is-not piracy perpetrators- by authority figures who were supposed to protect them.

When Malawians go to Culture Club in Kasungu and M1 Centre Point in Lilongwe Saturday and Sunday, respectively, to be showered with Zambian beats, they should as well get ready to swim in the flood of Malawi music, challenges Skeffa Chimoto.

Zambian artist Chimzey Kellie, of the Mkazi ndi Kumbuyo fame, is back in business and back in Malawi.

And, while the spotlight will be on him, one of the local artists who will be part of the party, Skeffa, says all is set.

Skeffa is on record to have said that “I am loved more in Zambia than Malawi”. But, from his tone, it is clear that he is set to show Malawians why he— as the son of the soil— should be equally appreciated back home.

“We have had good preparations and we look forward to doing our usual best,” said Skeffa.

He said it would be interesting to play alongside the Zambian artist. As a frequent visitor to neighbouring Zambia, Skeffa is aware that, on their day, Zambian artists can prove to the world that they are made of sterner stuff.

Just like Zambians in Lusaka know that Skeffa is made of sterner stuff, too.

Tomorrow, from 8 pm, Zambia meets Malawi at Culture Club in Kasungu.

Chimoto & Real Sounds Band will be there to support Chimzey Kellie. There will also be D.N.A., Kanthu Kalinda [KAKA], Lenzoh Mshanga.

The music party will then turn Lilongwe upside down for a Sunday shower.
