Harry Nyirenda open for Nomads’ reunion

Free-agent Harry Nyirenda says he is ready to listen to any offer, but does not rule out a return to Be Forward Wanderers if the club needs his services.

Nyirenda returned home this week after he rejected Black Leopards’ contract renewal, ending his six-year spell with the South African National First Division side.

The Flames defender was heavily linked with a move to newly-promoted South Africa Absa Premier Soccer League club, Highland Park and Tanzania giants, Simba FC, but a deal has not been agreed.

The former Wanderers captain told Zodiak Broadcasting Station that a return to Wanderers might be a possibility.

“I will be training on my own to keep fit. Wanderers are always in my heart because the team means a lot to me. We will see what happens in the coming days, but I am ready to talk to any team which is interested in my services,” Nyirenda told the radio station.

The Nomads have been fragile at the back having let in 10 goals in the league this season.

And the former Eagles Beaks defender could be a good addition to the Nomads if they are to mount a serious title challenge this season.

However, Wanderers Team Manager, Steve Madeira, Wednesday said he was not comfortable to comment on the issue because they have not approached Nyirenda.

Nyirenda moved to Leopards in 2010 and was one of the influential players at the club. He was also named as the club’s captain at some point.
