Civo have gone two consecutive games without a win in this round, hence are desperate for a win.<\/p>\n
The civil servants miserably lost 1-4 to Blue Eagles at home, before they were held to a goalless draw by Kamuzu Barracks in a dull encounter played at the same venue last Sunday.<\/p>\n
If they beat Mzuni on Friday, it will be their first home victory in the second round despite starting on good note after beating Fisd Wizards and Be Forward Wanderers by 1-0 margins.<\/p>\n
On Thursday, Civo coach Oscar Kaunda was brimming with confidence that they will collect maximum points against Mzuni.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur preparations have been going on well and all the players are ready for the match. We are not underrating Mzuni because they are still a good team,\u201d Kaunda said.<\/p>\n
Civo will welcome back defence pillar, John Lanjesi, who was an unused substitute in Tanzania when the Flames lost 2-0 in a Fifa World Cup preliminary qualifying round match.<\/p>\n
On his part, Mzuni coach, Alex Ngwira said his charges are ready for the showdown.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe respect Civo as one of the big teams, but if they underrate us they will be shocked,\u201d Ngwira said.<\/p>\n
Ninth-placed Civo have 23 points from 18 games, whereas Mzuni occupy position 13 with 16 points from the same number of games.<\/p>\n
In another match today, Airborne Rangers host Moyale Barracks at Chitowe Stadium in an all soldiers\u2019 affair.<\/p>\n
Rangers and Moyale are also without a win in the second round. The Salima-based soldiers are stuck in the relegation zone on position 14 with 13 points, whereas Moyale are 10th with 20 points from 17 games.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
