Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Association of Malawi (WBAM) will only recognise paid-up bodybuilders during this year\u2019s Mr. Malawi Bodybuilding contest.<\/p>\n
Each bodybuilder is required to pay an annual membership fee of K2,400 to be eligible to participate in events recognised by the association.<\/p>\n
The annual event is set for October 31 2015 at Mkango Lodge in Blantyre.<\/p>\n
WBAM general secretary, Harold Mwayang\u2019ana, said it was a normal trend for bodybuilders to affiliate themselves to the mother body.<\/p>\n
Mwayang\u2019ana also stated the association\u2019s executive members set the ball rolling by each paying affiliation fee of K24,000.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe already notified the bodybuilders about the development,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mwayang\u2019ana said preparations for the forthcoming contest were at an advanced stage.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to build on the success of last year. We are addressing the shortfalls which we noted,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
WBAM said they would announce the panel of professional and reputable judges next week.<\/p>\n
\u201cDiscussions with the judges are on-going, but we promise to have the best to give confidence to all stakeholders,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
