Tickets for Sunday\u2019s 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying campaign reverse match between Malawi national football team, the Flames and Tanzania\u2019s Taifa Stars at Kamuzu Stadium will start selling today in designated outlets.<\/p>\n
Football Association of Malawi (Fam) general secretary, Sugzo Nyirenda, confirmed yesterday that all arrangements regarding the selling of the tickets have been finalised.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe tickets will be sold up to Saturday. As you know, Fifa does not allow the selling of the tickets on the day of the game because it compromises important elements such as security. I urge all Malawians to access the tickets from their usual outlets because we will not sell them on Sunday,\u201d Nyirenda said.<\/p>\n
He said Fam has printed 22,000 tickets for the preliminary round second leg match in line with the capacity of the stadium and that fans won\u2019t be allowed to spread to the cordoned off terraces.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are making arrangements to have the tickets available in other areas that are always overlooked such as Zomba, Thyolo, Lilongwe and even Mzuzu because it is a game involving the nation and it does not belong to Blantyre fans only. We are optimistic that by Friday, the tickets will have reached such places,\u201d Nyirenda explained.<\/p>\n
In the commercial city, according to Nyirenda, the tickets will be accessed in townships such as Bangwe, Soche- East, Zingwangwa, Chirimba, Mbayani, Chilomoni, Chilobwe, but the main selling points remain Chiwembe (Fam offices, Kamuzu stadium and Blantyre Youth Centre.<\/p>\n
The Fam GS also said security will be tightened in all the designated selling outlets to thwart fraudsters.<\/p>\n
The Open stands tickets will be selling at K1, 000, K2, 500.00 for MBC Stand, the Covered Stands tickets are pegged at K5, 000.00 and K10,000 for the VIP.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the stadium is currently undergoing renovations ahead of Saturday\u2019s inspection to be conducted by Fifa\u2019s Ghanaian-born envoy, Anthony Baffor who will be match commissioner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
