Be Forward Wanderers have accused referee Dennis Ngulube of biased officiation on Saturday when the Nomads lost 1-0 to rivals, Big Bullets, in a TNM Super League second round match at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
Nomads chairperson, George Chamangwana, yesterday said Ngulube should be banned for allowing Bullets\u2019 second half Jafalie Chande\u2019s goal despite a foul on goalkeeper Richard Chipuwa.<\/p>\n
Chamangwana said the referee also denied Wanderers two strong penalty appeals.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe wouldn\u2019t say that the referee was incompetent, but he was biased. Most of the decisions went against us. We had two strong penalties appeals turned down. Bullets were also allowed to score when our keeper was fouled by their striker [Diverson Mlozi,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Chamangwana said Wanderers have lost some games in the league this season, but they never complained about poor officiating.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur secretariat is writing both Sulom and National Referees Association to officially air out our grievances,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Sulom general secretary, Williams Banda, said they had advised Wanderers to follow procedures by lodging an official complaint.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is a technical matter and we can\u2019t comment much especially in absence of an official complaint. In the meantime, we are waiting for the match assessor report (Bester Kalombo),\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
National Referees Committee general secretary, Chris Kalichero, laughed off the accusations, saying it was an old fashioned habit to blame referees after defeats.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur referees are competent, but some quarters don\u2019t want to appreciate it. Some weeks ago, it was Bullets accusing referees when they lost to Wanderers and now it is Wanderers\u2019 turn to accuse us,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
