Moyale Barracks lost 1-0 to Dedza Young Soccer Stars in a TNM Super League second round match to dampen the hosts\u2019 goalkeeper, Juma Chikwenga\u2019s Player-of-the- Month award on Sunday at Mzuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
After Super League of Malawi (Sulom) treasurer, Tiya Somba-Banda, presented Chikwenga the award for being outstanding last month, he went on to concede through Ferguson Msonde\u2019s 30th minute strike.<\/p>\n
Chikwenga won the award after twice being voted man-of-the-match in the league.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am grateful to TNM for the award. It will inspire me forever,\u201d Chikwenga said after receiving a K30, 000 cheque, a miniature trophy, a mobile phone handset, TNM branded cap and a T-shirt.<\/p>\n
The result pulled Dedza out of the relegation zone as they lie 11th on 18 points.<\/p>\n
Moyale, who are 10th on the log with 20 points, could have equalised after they were awarded a penalty, but Crispin Fukizi was guilty of shooting over the bar.<\/p>\n
