Renowned golfer Donbell Mandala underlined his class when he won the Optichem golf tournament at Mulanje Sports Club on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Mandala, with a handicap of 16, beat a field of 50 golfers when he scored 44 points to emerge champion.<\/p>\n
It marked a successful weekend for Mandala who finished on third position during the National Bank Golf Championship held at Blantyre Sports Club on Saturday.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe tournament was tough, but I was focused. My playing partners were great and we had fun on the course. I also thank Optichem for supporting the tournament,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Justice John Katsala finished second with 43 points, whereas Fanneck Gama was counted out to finish third.<\/p>\n
In ladies\u2019 category, Connie Muguvu was the winner with 33 points, whereas Teri Amaro finished as the runner-up with 30 points.<\/p>\n
Optichem general manager, Bobby Singh, said they were delighted to sponsor the tournament at the Mulanje club for the first time.<\/p>\n
