{"id":8960,"date":"2015-09-21T08:27:51","date_gmt":"2015-09-21T08:27:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=8960"},"modified":"2015-09-21T08:27:51","modified_gmt":"2015-09-21T08:27:51","slug":"nomads-fans-bay-for-players-blood","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/09\/21\/nomads-fans-bay-for-players-blood\/","title":{"rendered":"Nomads fans bay for players\u2019 blood"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>I <\/strong>rate fans forced Be Forward Wanderers players to walk to the team\u2019s club house following their second successive loss in the TNM Super League on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers\u2019 poor run has overshadowed the team\u2019s recent success in the Carlsberg Cup as they lost 1-0 to Kamuzu Barracks (KB) at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>After Saturday\u2019s game, supporters surrounded the dressing room exit, barring the players from boarding the team\u2019s bus.<\/p>\n<p>Supporters questioned players\u2019 commitment, while also accusing Elia Kananji-led coaching panel for starting with strikers, Victor Nyirenda and Muhammad Sulumba, arguing that the two cannot blend because their style of play is similar.<\/p>\n<p>Realising the danger, Wanderers players, together with officials, were whisked away using the stadium\u2019s main vehicle entrance along the Makata\/Ndirande road.<\/p>\n<p>As if that was not enough, Wanderers Supporters Committee secretary, Paul Mphepo, said they asked<\/p>\n<p>Southern Region Police to keep the bus at their regional office as a safety measure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey [fans] felt the players were not giving out their best, hence the defeats. So, the players had to walk to the club house as we didn\u2019t want to irritate the supporters further. As for the coaster which is at the police, we had to take safety measures as the situation was a bit tense and scary,\u201d Mphepo explained.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers vice-general secretary, Chris Kananji, said they would investigate the team\u2019s slump, which vice-team manager, Steve Madeira, separately attributed to a mere bad patch.<\/p>\n<p>Last week, the Nomads, who are stuck at 26 points from 16 games at par with KB, also lost 1-0 to Civo at the same venue<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I rate fans forced Be Forward Wanderers players to walk to the team\u2019s club house following their second successive loss in the TNM Super League on Saturday.
