IT is undeniable that Nigerians are doing well in the entertainment sector because they are becoming talk of town in most parts of Africa.<\/p>\n
Their music industry has blossomed with a bang conquering different African music awards, including the just-ended MTV Music Awards which took place in South Africa and saw Nigerian artists like P-Square, the Mavins, Yemi Alade, among others, grabbing awards for themselves.<\/p>\n
It was the same at this year\u2019s Africa\u2019s Biggest Content Showcase hosted by MultiChoice taking place at Outrigger Resort in Mauritius on Tuesday when Nigerian acts dominated.<\/p>\n
The evening gala saw The Mavins performing their famous hit \u2018Dorobucci,\u2019 and Flavour famed for the hit \u2018Sawasawa,\u2019mesmerising the audience. M-Net West Africa Regional Director, Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu, said the artists were chosen based on their availability.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe choose the artistsnot because they are Nigerians but because of their availability. It doesn\u2019t matter where they are from because not all artists were available at the time of the event,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Mba – Uzoukwu explained that the main aim of the show was to nurture African talent on the continent.<\/p>\n
This implies that if Malawian artists are to be recognised and invited to big shows like these, then they have to sweat without which they will still be in limbo as no one would notice their talent.<\/p>\n
MultiChoice Africa\u00a0 content showcase started last year and it is\u00a0 a dynamic five-day content extravaganza, which sees a host of DStv\u2019s biggest channels, including Sony, SuperSport, Zee TV, A+E, Disney, MTV Base, BET, Comedy Central, BBC and M-Net previewing their latest and greatest content, soon to be seen across the video entertainment services provider\u2019s platforms.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
