{"id":81227,"date":"2019-07-31T03:06:45","date_gmt":"2019-07-31T01:06:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=81227"},"modified":"2019-07-31T03:06:45","modified_gmt":"2019-07-31T01:06:45","slug":"anisha-bashir-parts-ways-with-manager","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2019\/07\/31\/anisha-bashir-parts-ways-with-manager\/","title":{"rendered":"Anisha Bashir parts ways with manager"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>By Mphatso Malidadi:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Female pugilist Anisha Bashir has parted ways with manager Craig Rousseau following reported disagreements which have not been specified.<\/p>\n<p>Sources said Bashir was ready to pull the plug before her World Boxing Council-Silver lightweight <a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/anisha-bashir-isaac-chilemba-lose-in-europe\/\">loss<\/a> to champion Chantelle Cameron on July 20 in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>According to the source, Bashir put on hold her decision to avoid jeopardising the 10-round title contest.<\/p>\n<p>Bashir confirmed the development, saying she was looking for a new manager.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIt is time to move on. A lot of things were happening but I felt I could not make the decision as it had the potential to disturb my fight. I can tell you that things haven\u2019t been okay for some time and I wasn\u2019t surprised that I lost the fight. I didn\u2019t prepare thoroughly because of the troubles in our camp,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Bashir was, nonetheless, grateful to Rousseau for resurrecting her professional career to eventually win two belts\u2014African Boxing Union (ABU) and Commonwealth lightweight belts.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cHe has been instrumental in my career to the extent that I won two belts. But it is time to move on,\u201d<\/em> said the boxer with eight wins and six defeats.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, Rousseau contradicted Bashir, saying the boxer left by mutual consent as he is briefly stepping aside from the sport.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI just want to announce that from today [July 29 2019] Anisha Bashir is no longer a boxer of No Pain No Gain Boxing Promotions. I have been with Anisha for four years. I have supported, groomed and made her a champion. I feel that I have fulfilled what I had to. We have agreed on mutual consent and there is no bad blood. It is time to step aside a bit so that she should look for a new manager and promoter as I concentrate on other business,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Rousseau cited the ABU and Commonwealth title fights which he facilitated to enable Bashir to win the belts.<\/p>\n<p>Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board President, Lonzoe \u2018Defector\u2019 Zimba, said the decision should be respected by both parties.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe can\u2019t force them to work together.
