{"id":80849,"date":"2019-07-22T10:10:21","date_gmt":"2019-07-22T08:10:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=80849"},"modified":"2019-07-22T10:10:21","modified_gmt":"2019-07-22T08:10:21","slug":"karonga-united-get-live-bullets","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2019\/07\/22\/karonga-united-get-live-bullets\/","title":{"rendered":"Karonga United get live Bullets"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Mphatso Malidadi:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets woke up from their slumber to thump Karonga United 5-0 at Kamuzu Stadium Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>It was a timely response from the People\u2019s Team as a section of their supporters had been calling for Coach Kallisto Pasuwa\u2019s head after a winless run of three games.<\/p>\n<p>The win took Bullets to fifth on the table with 22 points from 12 games.<\/p>\n<p>However, the victory came at a price as Bullets lost defenders Gomezgani Chirwa and Bashir Maunde to injuries.<\/p>\n<p>This is bad news for Bullets ahead of Saturday\u2019s derby against archrivals Be Forward Wanderers.<\/p>\n<p>Twin strikers Hassan Kajoke and Chiukepo Msowoya scored a brace each to inspire Bullets to victory.<\/p>\n<p>Right fullback Pilirani Zonda stepped from the bench to score with a thunderous shot that wrapped up the match.<\/p>\n<p>Kajoke opened the scores with a deft finish in the seventh minute before adding another from the penalty spot six minutes later.<\/p>\n<p>It was the perfect start which Bullets needed and, as the game wore on, Msowoya found the back of the net with five minutes to half time.<\/p>\n<p>Karonga midfielder, Victor Lungu, showed flashes of brilliance but lacked the magic to turn around the visitors\u2019 fortunes.<\/p>\n<p>After resumption, Chiukepo completed his brace and Bullets\u2019 fourth whereas Zonda sealed the contest with one of the season\u2019s best goals.<\/p>\n<p>Pasuwa said they were lucky to beat Karonga by a big margin.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIn our last two games, it was our opponents\u2019 goalkeepers who were winning Man-of-the-Match awards. This meant that we were creating a lot of chances but were not scoring. We are now scoring and my only concern is on the injuries to our defenders,\u201d<\/em> Pasuwa said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Karonga Coach, Dan Dzinkambani, said they gave the match away.<\/p>\n<p>In another game played Sunday, Mzuni collected full points and a 3-0 victory after hosts Masters Security failed to show up for the match at Dedza Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Masters players have been boycotting training as they demand payment of their dues and the situation worsened with the game boycott.<\/p>\n<p>Civil Sporting Club drew 1-1 with Chitipa United at Civo Stadium, with Timothy Chitedze scoring for the hosts while Peter Mughogho converted for Chitipa.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Kamuzu Barracks (KB) have returned to the top of the table following their goalless draw with TN Stars at Kasungu Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>KB lead with 27 points from 12 games whereas Be Forward Wanderers are second with 26 points having played 11 matches<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mphatso Malidadi: TNM Super League champions Nyasa Big Bullets woke up from their slumber to thump Karonga United 5-0 at Kamuzu Stadium Sunday.
