All three judges scored 100-90, 100-89 and 100-89 in Cameron\u2019s favour.<\/p>\n<p>Bashir was defensive and tried to contain pressure while releasing some jabs and hooks, but in most cases her punches were wild.<\/p>\n<p>Cameron was indeed the aggressor most of the time but her punches lacked power and conviction to knock out Bashir, who appeared weak and exhausted.<\/p>\n<p>The Malawian said her preparations were not the best.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cI need time to review my performance. Losing is always disappointing. I know that I could have done better with good preparations,\u201d<\/em> Bashir said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Cameron, 27, extended her perfect winning record to 11 wins and seven knockouts whereas Bashir\u2019s eight-bout winning run came to a halt.<\/p>\n<p>The 22-year-old Bashir\u2019s record has now dropped to eight wins and six defeats.<\/p>\n<p>In Russia, Chilemba failed to bounce back from the defeat he suffered last year to another Russian Dmitry Bivol as Vlasov was apparently too strong for the South Africa-based Malawian.<\/p>\n<p>All three judges scored the fight 117-110, 116-111 and 116-111 in Vlasov\u2019s favour as the Russian got his revenge following the 2011 loss to Chilemba during the early days of both boxers\u2019 professional careers.<\/p>\n<p>However, Malawi Professional Boxing Control Board President, Lonzoe \u2018Defector\u2019 Zimba, tipped both Bashir and Chilemba to bounce back.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mphatso Malidadi: Malawi\u2019s top female boxer Anisha Bashir saw her eight-bout winning run come to a halt after suffering a unanimous decision defeat to Chantelle Cameron in a World Boxing Council Silver lightweight fight at Brentwood Centre in Essex on Saturday night.
