{"id":80751,"date":"2019-07-19T11:04:42","date_gmt":"2019-07-19T09:04:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=80751"},"modified":"2019-07-19T11:04:42","modified_gmt":"2019-07-19T09:04:42","slug":"babatunde-adepoju-is-fans-best","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2019\/07\/19\/babatunde-adepoju-is-fans-best\/","title":{"rendered":"Babatunde Adepoju is fans\u2019 best"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Mphatso Malidadi: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>TNM Super League leading scorer, Babatunde Adepoju, has been voted TNM Super League supporters\u2019 Player-of-the-Month for June.<\/p>\n<p>The in-form Be Forward Wanderers striker has won fans\u2019 hearts as the most outstanding player with 10 goals after joining from Masters Security.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian becomes the first to win the newly introduced accolade.<\/p>\n<p>Babatunde emerged winner through a voting process in TNM\u2019s Pokopoko ndi Zampira promotions, having amassed 1,062 votes to beat four other contestants to the monthly prize.<\/p>\n<p>He received K100,000 from the elite league\u2019s sponsor, TNM.<\/p>\n<p>Nyasa Big Bullets\u2019 Peter Banda came second with 518 votes while Christopher Mtambo of Savenda Chitipa United was third with 201 votes.<\/p>\n<p>Blue Eagles Captain Micium Mhone and Misheck Selemani of Karonga United shared fourth and fifth position with 89 and 52 votes, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Babatunde said he was delighted with the award and paid tribute to his teammates.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIt is all about teamwork. My teammates helped me to score the goals and shine,\u201d<\/em> he said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>TNM Public Relations and Sponsorship Manager, Limban Nsapato, said the award was an incentive to both fans and clubs, and promotes active engagement of soccer fans.<\/p>\n<p>He said TNM remained committed to creating platforms for engagement with fans, in addition to other activities such as the Predict-and-Win Promotion.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe Fans\u2019 Player-of-the- Month award underscores this commitment. Now there is something for everyone. We will continue to innovate to ensure that soccer fans, players and clubs all have a reason to smile every season,\u201d<\/em> Nsapato said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>To come up with the winner, TNM, in partnership with Super League of Malawi, shortlists five outstanding players from which fans vote for their favourite by dialing *1515# and choosing \u2018Player-of-the-Month\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>This year, courtesy of Zampira Promotion, three lucky winners would fly to Spain in September to watch a match involving giants Real Madrid.<\/p>\n<p>The grand winner of the promotion would cart home K2 million, with the first and second runner-up going away with a motorbike and plasma screen, respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Mphatso Malidadi: TNM Super League leading scorer, Babatunde Adepoju, has been voted TNM Super League supporters\u2019 Player-of-the-Month for June.
