The support would help sub- Saharan African countries build resilience to climate change and develop low carbon economies\u201d.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The funds would be used over the next five years and would see sub-Saharan Africa benefitting from UK expertise and experience as countries adopt strategies that build their resilience to climate shocks.<\/p>\n<p>The UK will not work in isolation, however, as African governments, organisations and communities would play their part to ensure that Department for International Development\u2019s largest single direct climate investment produces tangible results.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe are facing a global climate emergency. Polluted air, rising sea levels and increasing temperatures are felt by everyone in the world.
