{"id":80289,"date":"2019-07-10T02:45:05","date_gmt":"2019-07-10T00:45:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=80289"},"modified":"2019-07-10T10:30:02","modified_gmt":"2019-07-10T08:30:02","slug":"daliso-chaponda-announces-blah-blah-uk-tour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2019\/07\/10\/daliso-chaponda-announces-blah-blah-uk-tour\/","title":{"rendered":"Daliso Chaponda announces Blah Blah UK tour"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><em>By Peter Kanjere:<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Celebrated Malawian stand-up comedian Daliso Chaponda is set to embark on a 36-tour of the United Kingdom (UK) in September, a website called Chortle has announced.<\/p>\n<p>The publication indicates that the UK-based comedian\u2019s tour is dubbed <em>Blah Blah Blacklist <\/em>and it delves into issues of Malawi and his general experiences.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe show, entitled Blah Blah Blacklist, kicks off in Darwen, Lancashire, on September 19 following his run at the Edinburgh Fringe, and runs until March 15 at Salford\u2019s Lowry,\u201d<\/em> reads <em>www.chortle.co.uk\/news. <\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cIn it, the Malawian-born stand-up looks at disgraced celebrities and historical figures we\u2019re ashamed we once admired.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cHe will also discuss the arrest of family members, exploding buildings in his home country, the enterprising Malawian who tried to blackmail Daliso and being accused by some of his own community that he\u2019s \u2018not black enough\u2019\u2026\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Chaponda, who <a href=\"\/\/www.times.mw\/blantyre-comes-out-for-daliso-chaponda\/\">visited Malawi<\/a> recently for a number of shows, shot to fame when he reached the final of Britain\u2019s Got Talent.<\/p>\n<p>Chaponda has also appeared in his own Radio 4 show Citizen of Nowhere, which has been commissioned for a second series to air this autumn.<\/p>\n<p>He is also curating an exhibit on colonial artefacts, which will open at for Liverpool World Museum later this year.<strong>\u2014 <\/strong><strong>www. chortle.co.uk\/news<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Peter Kanjere: Celebrated Malawian stand-up comedian Daliso Chaponda is set to embark on a 36-tour of the United Kingdom (UK) in September, a website called Chortle has announced.
