{"id":80111,"date":"2019-07-06T01:56:01","date_gmt":"2019-07-05T23:56:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=80111"},"modified":"2019-07-06T01:56:01","modified_gmt":"2019-07-05T23:56:01","slug":"9-die-in-machinga-road-accident","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2019\/07\/06\/9-die-in-machinga-road-accident\/","title":{"rendered":"9 die in Machinga road accident"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>By <strong>Yohane Symon:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The number of people who have died after a family car collided with a tanker in Machinga District on Wednesday has reached nine.<\/p>\n<p>Machinga Police Station spokesperson, Davie Sulumba, has confirmed the development.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe accident involved a tanker, registration number BN 6290 and driven by Joel Nsanama, and a Toyota Sienta, registration number KK 6980 and driven Kim Chimatilo. Chimatilo died on the spot and, now, the number of passengers who have died has reached night.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe driver of the tanker was driving from the direction of Zomba towards Liwonde. Upon arrival in Ndaje Village, he saw a cruising motor vehicle coming from the opposite direction. The driver of the Sienta lost control of the vehicle and swerved to right side of the road, where he collided head-on with the tanker,\u201d<\/em> Sulumba said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The bodies are being kept at Zomba Central Hospital mortuary.<\/p>\n<p>The Sienta was extensively damaged while the tanker had its fender, bumper and headlamps damaged.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Yohane Symon: The number of people who have died after a family car collided with a tanker in Machinga District on Wednesday has reached nine.
