Looking at the context of the minister\u2019s statement and looking at how the statement was deliberated on Monday by the House, I have concluded that, in as far as the subjudice rule is concerned, the House will not be safe if it continues with deliberations on the statement,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>In the statement, Dausi said opposition parties have been organising demonstrations, which have turned into violence, to pressurise the court to nullify May 21 presidential election results and force Malawi Electoral Commission (Mec) Chairperson, Jane Ansah, to resign.<\/p>\n<p>The ruling follows a Point of Order that Chitipa East MP Kezzie Msukwa raised on whether it was proper for the House to deliberate on Dausi\u2019s statement.<\/p>\n<p>Malawi Congress Party President Lazarus Chakwera and UTM leader Saulos Chilima are challenging Mec\u2019s decision to declare President Peter Mutharika the winner of the presidential election.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Audrey Kapalamula: Speaker of the National Assembly, Catherine Gotani- Hara, Thursday restrained members of Parliament (MPs) from discussing Homeland Security Minister Nicholas Dausi\u2019s statement on the status of national security.
