Alleluya Band uses the tour to raise funds for projects at Andiamo in Balaka.<\/p>\n<p>The group, which left early this month is expected back home in August.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.times.mw\/hear-us-children-readies-for-brazil\/\">Hear Us Children<\/a> from Music Crossroads Malawi also left the country last month for Brazil for an exchange programme in which they have been engaged in workshops and cultural performances. The group is expected back home today.<\/p>\n<p>Lilongwe-based Madalitso Band, the duo of Yosefe Kalekeni and Yobu Maligwa, is also in Europe where it is set to hold shows in France, Norway and United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThey are currently in France and have a long way to go. They have done five shows only and are remaining with 17 shows,\u201d<\/em> the group\u2019s co-manager, Emmanuel Kamwenje, said Sunday.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Another artist currently in Europe for performances is Gasper Nali.<\/p>\n<p>The musician is on a United Kingdom tour, according to Spare Dog Records, which manages him.<\/p>\n<p>Gasper\u2019s UK tour will take him to Glastonbury, Liverpool and Bristol.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the festivals he is expected to perform at include Glastonbury which is a top festival in Europe. The other festivals are Africa Oye and Solas.<\/p>\n<p>Gasper has not had many shows in the country but has performed at festivals such as Lake of Stars in Nkhata Bay and Rhythm of Rainforest in Ntchisi.<\/p>\n<p>He came to the limelight after his video in which he plays a one-stringed guitar known as Babatoni with the song \u2018Abale Ndikuuzeni\u2019, went viral on social media and since then he has attracted interest from players outside the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sam Banda Jnr: Europe continues to attract more Malawian acts for performances at stages including festivals.
