They passed through Kamuzu Procession Road and reached Lilongwe Girls Secondary School. When they reached there, police officers started firing teargas canisters at them and people fled. But when they saw that the police officers had gone, they put branches of trees on the road and burnt some tyres,\u201d<\/em> the source said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The source said the road was blocked at Lilongwe Girls Cemetery near the entrance of Lilongwe Girls Secondary School.<\/p>\n<p>According to the sources, the police fired more teargas canisters around the area to disperse the people.<\/p>\n<p>Mutharika, however, made it to Kamuzu Palace. When entering the city, he used the Lilongwe-City West bypass on his way to the palace.<\/p>\n<p>Presidential spokesperson, Mgeme Kalilani, Wednesday said they travelled well from Mangochi to Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cWe have travelled well. We were on the convoy; we wouldn\u2019t know what was happening elsewhere. We are just seeing those things on the social media. In fact, I started seeing those things after we had reached the palace,\u201d<\/em> Kalilani said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This is Mutharika\u2019s return to the city after the elections.
