Silver Strikers survived a scare from Masters Security to book an Airtel Top 8 final berth against Karonga United courtesy of a 1-0 win before a huge crowd at Civo Stadium Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Central Bankers have made history by becoming the first team to reach the competition\u2019s final twice since its introduction in 2017.<\/p>\n

It was a hard fought victory as Masters produced a good performance in the second-half but were let down by their strikers who missed several chances.<\/p>\n

Michael Tetteh was Silver\u2019s hero as he scored the lone goal from close range on the half hour mark.<\/p>\n

The Ghanaian benefitted from Masters\u2019 poor defending and controlled a Victor Limbani cross before slotting it home to send Silver fans into ecstasy.<\/p>\n

Tetteh partnered Khuda Muyaba upfront but the former Moyale striker was not a real threat.<\/p>\n

In the second-half, Masters introduced Zeliat Nkhoma for misfiring Juma Yatina and Sammy Phiri for Amadu Makawa to add firepower upfront.<\/p>\n

Silver responded by substituting Duncan Nyoni for Hygiene Mwandepeka as a strategy to defend the goal and it worked.<\/p>\n

Masters\u2019 defender Eric Etsigah was named Man-of-the-Match and went away with K50,000.<\/p>\n

Abasi Makawa, Masters Coach, said his side was unfortunate to lose after a brilliant second-half.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe played well but the sad part is that we are out of the cup. We created several chances but were not clinical in front of goal,\u201d<\/em> Makawa said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Silver assistant Coach, Lovemore Fazili, praised his charges for making it to the final.<\/p>\n
