{"id":79060,"date":"2019-06-12T05:35:30","date_gmt":"2019-06-12T03:35:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=79060"},"modified":"2019-06-12T05:35:30","modified_gmt":"2019-06-12T03:35:30","slug":"mccci-for-products-quality-standardization","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2019\/06\/12\/mccci-for-products-quality-standardization\/","title":{"rendered":"MCCCI for products quality standardization"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Bethsaida Msowoya:<\/strong><\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_73232\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-73232\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/millie-kasunda.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-73232 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/millie-kasunda-300x134.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"134\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/millie-kasunda-300x134.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/millie-kasunda-768x342.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/millie-kasunda.jpg 820w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-73232\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">KASUNDA\u2014Initiative crucial<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Malawi Confederation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (MCCCI) has said Malawi should intensify efforts in improving productivity and produce value added products to compete at international markets.<\/p>\n<p>MCCCI Head of Communication, Millie Kasunda, made the call in an interview on Monday ahead of Malawi\u2019s 31<sup>st<\/sup> International Trade Fair to be held in Blantyre from June 20 to 30.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, to be held at the Chichiri International Trade Fair Grounds, would be held under the theme: \u2018Achieving Competitiveness through Integration into Regional Value Chains\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Kasunda said the fair would unveil competitiveness of the country\u2019s products to be recognised on the international market.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThis year\u2019s trade fair will look at businesses that cross the borders in terms of the value added on the products and how competitive these products are in the other countries,\u201d<\/em> Kasunda said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Kasunda said, by next week, MCCCI would be winding-up preparations for the fair but was mum on number of exhibitors expected to participate.<\/p>\n<p>Kasunda further said trade fair exhibitions provide an opportunity for organisations to market their products and services in different sectors across the economy and that it provides a platform for the business community to interact with each other.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cTrade Fair provides business linkage which is one of the ingredients of a successful business.
