Cosafa secretariat announced the dates on Saturday after Zambia were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.soccer24.com\/africa\/cosafa-cup\/\">crowned<\/a> champions for the senior men\u2019s tournament which took place in Durban, South Africa.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>&#8220;The Cosafa Women\u2019s Championship will be staged in Port Elizabeth from July 31 to August 11 2019, while the Cosafa Under-20 Women\u2019s Championship will run concurrently at the same venue from August 1 to 11,\u201d<\/em> reads a post on <em>www.cosafa.com.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cLater in the year will also be a Cosafa Under-17 Women\u2019s Championship in Mauritius (September 13 to 22) followed by a boys\u2019 competition in the Under-17 age-group in Malawi (September 26-October 5). <em>\u201cThe final competition will be the Cosafa Under-20 Championship for men in Zambia from December 4 to 15.\u201d<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>However, Football Association of Malawi is yet to disclose the venue for the under-17 championship, which the junior Flames won on home soil in 2001.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/flames-finish-cosafa-tourney-with-plate-final-loss\/\">The Flames<\/a> returned home on Saturday after winning three games, losing twice and drawing once at the men\u2019s senior event.<\/p>\n<p>Zambia, who eliminated the Flames from the quarter-finals through a 4-2 post-match penalty win after a 2-2 stalemate in regulation time, beat Botswana 1-0 to bag their fifth title.<\/p>\n<p>However, Malawi, who lost 5-4 on post-match penalties to South Africa in the Plate Section final, claimed three of the five individual awards on offer. Midfielder Gerald Phiri Junior bagged the Player of the Tournament Award worth K1 million (R20,000) and also received K333,000 for the top scorer award.<\/p>\n<p>Phiri finished as the top scorer alongside compatriot Gabadinho Mhango and Ashley Nazira of Mauritius to win the award, worth K1 million (R20,000).<\/p>\n<p>Zambian keeper Mwange was crowned Goalkeeper of the Tournament and took home the same amount.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>BY Peter Kanjere: Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) has confirmed that Malawi will host the Under-17 championship from September 26 to August 5 2019.
