{"id":7867,"date":"2015-08-21T08:04:59","date_gmt":"2015-08-21T08:04:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=7867"},"modified":"2015-08-21T08:04:59","modified_gmt":"2015-08-21T08:04:59","slug":"big-bullets-defy-charges-over-burundian-striker","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/08\/21\/big-bullets-defy-charges-over-burundian-striker\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Bullets defy charges over Burundian striker"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Big Bullets have shrugged off \u2018breach-of-player-transfer\u2019 charges which the Super League of Malawi (Sulom) has levelled against the team following Mzuni FC\u2019s complaint over \u2018their\u2019 striker Nyikiza Aimable.<\/p>\n<p>According to a letter from Sulom dated August 19, 2015, Bullets have 72 hours from yesterday to respond to the charges over the Burundian striker who is in their camp.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe received a complaint from Mzuni FC on your actions upon the intent to transfer of Aimable to Bullets Football Club,\u201d reads part of the letter signed by Sulom treasurer, Tiya Somba-Banda.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is being alleged that the player has been training with Bullets without the permission of Mzuni up to the extent that you used the player during the Inter City Charity Trophy during the weekend of 7th and 8 August, 2015 contrary to Article 13.1.4 Sulom Constitution as read with Article 4.1 of the Football Association of Malawi (Fam) Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.\u201d reads part of the letter.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets\u2019 vice general secretary, Kelvin Moyo, yesterday challenged the grounds, saying Aimable has no contract with Mzuni.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen Aimable was training with us, he had no contract with Mzuni.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSecondly, the player had already resigned from Mzuni. In addition, he was illegally registered by Mzuni as he has no work permit,\u201d Moyo said.<\/p>\n<p>The Burundian striker impressed during the Intercity trophy in Lilongwe, where Bullets finished third. The giant striker netted once in a 3-3 draw against Blue Eagles.<\/p>\n<p>However, Eagles won the match 5-4 through post-match penalties.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, Mzuni officials told <em>The Daily Times <\/em>that the striker could only play for the club since his student\u2019s visa restricts him from any other team outside the university.<\/p>\n<p>The striker recently disputed Mzuni\u2019s claims, saying he was through with studies at the university, hence the club\u2019s argument does not arise.<\/p>\n<p>If found guilty, Bullets can either be suspended from players transfer for some period or be fined.
