Wendy Harawa gets down to the business of gospel music tomorrow night when she comes out to launch her debut gospel album <em>Mundisunge Ndinu <\/em>at Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe tonight.<\/p>\n<p>It is such a special moment for the singer and dancer as she launches her gospel music career, having shifted goal posts from secular.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cIt means so much to me to launch this album because it is the beginning of greater things and the way to my destiny and purpose on earth,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Wendy will share the stage with Nigeria\u2019s Jimmy D Psalmist, who collaborated with Wendy in the song \u2018Chisomo\u2019, which is also part of the album.<\/p>\n<p>Other artists expected to light the long awaited launch include The Great Angels Choir, Patience Namadingo and Onesimus, who is based in South Africa. Onesimus and Jimmy D Psalmist were expected to jet into the country ahead of the concert Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>Looking back to the albums she has produced, Wendy rated them highly.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cBut this album is different because it is coming from new Wendy,\u201d<\/em> she said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Signed by Major 1 Records of Prophet Shepherd Bushiri, which recently signed veteran gospel musician George Mkandawire, Wendy\u2019s album has 10 songs recorded at Major 1 Records and Ralph Records but mixed and mastered at New Movement in South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Her launch comes barely two weeks after Wendy won an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/wendy-harawa-bags-award-for-malawi-in-kenya\/\">award<\/a> for the track \u2018Chisomo\u2019 in Kenya during the grand finale of the Maranatha Global Worship Music Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Wendy has dropped some of the songs in the album on market. Some of the songs in the album include \u2018Mbusa Wanga\u2019, \u2018Hossana\u2019 and \u2018Awesome God\u2019.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sam Banda Jnr: Call her new Wendy.
