{"id":7854,"date":"2015-08-21T07:52:12","date_gmt":"2015-08-21T07:52:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=7854"},"modified":"2015-08-21T07:52:12","modified_gmt":"2015-08-21T07:52:12","slug":"mingoli-band-invades-lilongwe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/08\/21\/mingoli-band-invades-lilongwe\/","title":{"rendered":"Mingoli Band invades Lilongwe"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Blantyre-based Mingoli Band, formerly Mibawa Band, takes a trip to the capital city, Lilongwe once again performing at Discolium Friday night.<\/p>\n<p>The group\u2019s leader McDonald Muwawa said Thursday that they are ready for the show which will give them a chance to entertain people in Lilongwe once again.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cLilongwe is now turning into our second home and so whenever we are invited to perform we do not hesitate. We are ready and we can\u2019t wait to get on stage on Friday (today),\u201d said Muwawa, who is a drummer.<\/p>\n<p>The group performs cover songs originally done by other musicians and recently they hinted that they will be releasing their own songs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are taking our time but we are putting together our own songs but for now we just want to inform people that we have rehearsed lots of songs,\u201d said Muwawa.<\/p>\n<p>The group is led by vocalists Elivacy Muyaba and Goma Nyondo, who worked on new songs when they were known as Mibawa Band.<\/p>\n<p>The album was expected to be released under Mibawa but following the change of the name, the album could not come out.<\/p>\n<p>Other members of the band include lead guitarist Manyozo Tchado and bass guitarist Godfrey Mbizi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Blantyre-based Mingoli Band, formerly Mibawa Band, takes a trip to the capital city, Lilongwe once again performing at Discolium Friday night.
