Reggae group Black Missionaries will tonight entertain delegates during the Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) Annual conference which started Thurday and will end tomorrow at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi.<\/p>\n
Blacks lead vocalist Anjiru Fumulani said on Tuesday that they were happy that they will be performing at the insurance meet.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are excited and when we were approached to perform there we did not hesitate as we knew we will be performing to a different audience,\u201d said Anjiru.<\/p>\n
He said that performing at the conference will also give them time to market their latest album Kuimba 10<\/em>.<\/p>\n Chairperson of the organising committee for the conference Chimwemwe Kanyenda said they decided to engage Black Missionaries to among others sample fresh songs from Kuimba 10 <\/em>which he said is carrying good messages of love and hope.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Black Missionaries represent quintessential and urban music genre with obvious appeal as well as extensive outreach across the spectrum of the society.<\/p>\n \u201cThe Blacks are the undisputed local reggae kings. Therefore the choice of Blacks is beyond reproach but universally accepted and likeable amongst the conference delegates,\u201d said Kanyenda.<\/p>\n He added that on any day, a free and fair referendum regarding the question of the suitability of Blacks would produce a resounding yes result.<\/p>\n Kanyenda said the Insurance Institute of Malawi annual conference is an occasion for the Insurance Institute to re-dedicate itself to the original mandate that the founding fathers adopted at the inception in 1978.<\/p>\n \u201cAnd these include promoting professionalism in the insurance industry through education and training and, without prejudice, to maintain a sound, vibrant and stable insurance industry,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Kanyenda said that each year the annual conference attracts a diverse participants\u2019 profile from the insurance, financial and various business sectors.<\/p>\n He said main objective of the conference is to provide an information sharing and collaborative environment for insurance regulatory authorities, insurance brokers, reinsurers, insurers and other special groups with interest in insurance.<\/p>\n Kanyenda described the conference as an ideal platform from which to forge new business relationships through unrivalled networking opportunities during the course of the conference, both in formal and more relaxed environments.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Reggae group Black Missionaries will tonight entertain delegates during the Insurance Institute of Malawi (IIM) Annual conference which started Thurday and will end tomorrow at Sunbird Nkopola in Mangochi.
