LOST OUT\u2014Manganya<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Several artists who contested for parliamentary seats have not done well except a few, according to unofficial results from some of the constituencies.<\/p>\n

One of the artists who has fallen out is Soldier Lucius Banda, who was seeking re-election as member of Parliament for Balaka North.<\/p>\n

\u201cThank you Balaka North, it was an honour serving you for the past five years,\u201d<\/em> Lucius wrote on his Facebook page.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The other artist, who has failed to win a seat in Mulanje, is actor Michael Usi\u2014 better known as Manganya\u2014 who is also UTM presidential running mate.<\/p>\n

Manganya cast his vote in Mulanje and described the voting process on Tuesday as fast.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThe voting process was fast. It did not take me long to cast my vote and, so, I am happy to have exercised my right to vote,\u201d<\/em> Manganya said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Other artists who have missed out on parliamentary seats, according to unofficial results, include Tay Grin, who contested in Lilongwe and Fredokiss, who contested in Blantyre.<\/p>\n

The other one is Aaron Chambo, who contested in Mulanje.<\/p>\n

As we went to press Thursday, it was not known as to whether Honjo star San B, who contested in Blantyre, and poet Felix Katsoka, who contested in Ntcheu, had made it.<\/p>\n

Unofficial parliamentary results also indicated Thursday that Thoko Tembo and Billy Kaunda had made it to Parliament.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
