There is a lot of excitement especially from band members that have joined Amaravi Movement. These guys will be making their debut at Nkhotakota Music Festival,\u201d<\/em> Mawanga said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The past years have seen Mawanga concentrating more on performances outside the country and last year had concerts in United States of America.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThe last time I performed in the country was in 2014 and it is good to be back home doing what I love most. It also appears that the news that I am featuring at Nkhotakota Music Festival has ignited some interest across the borders. I am getting calls from Zimbabwe and Zambia for concerts in the coming months,\u201d<\/em> the \u2018Zanga Zozama\u2019 star said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The one-day festival would take place at Nkhotakota Youth Organisation.<\/p>\n<p>Nkhotakota Music Festival Manager, Friday Ur, said all was ready for the festival and that they were looking forward to another great event this year with Mawanga as the headliner.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><em>\u201cThis is the seventh time for the festival and the fifth year and so we are striving to bring out the best,\u201d<\/em> Friday said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Apart from Mawanga, some of the artists expected to perform at this year\u2019s festival include Agorosso, Chaka Band, Zathu Band, traditional dances and a selection of Nkhotakota Youth Organisation\u2019s own acts.<\/p>\n<p>The theme for this year\u2019s festival is \u2018Our Identity\u2019 with a focus on forms of cultural expressions that exist in the country today.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>By Sam Banda Jnr: Musician Peter Mawanga returns to the stage on Saturday to headline the Nkhotakota Music Festival.
