{"id":7680,"date":"2015-08-18T08:08:17","date_gmt":"2015-08-18T08:08:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=7680"},"modified":"2015-08-18T08:08:17","modified_gmt":"2015-08-18T08:08:17","slug":"simplex-nthala-suspended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/08\/18\/simplex-nthala-suspended\/","title":{"rendered":"Simplex Nthala suspended"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Flames goalkeeper Simplex Nthala\u2019s career has stalled in Mozambique after being slapped with a damaging indefinite suspension at his club Maxaquene, thereby compromising his possible national team recall.<\/p>\n<p>Nthala confirmed on Sunday that he had not featured for Maxaquene for a month after being accused of attacking a referee during last month\u2019s league game against Ferroviaro de Nacala.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI served the red card suspension and when I thought I could resume playing, the league wrote to my club that the referee, in his report, indicated that I beat him up, hence I must wait for the league\u2019s determination. I was eventually invited for a hearing,\u201d Nthala explained.<\/p>\n<p>As Maxaquene vice-captain, he was involved in fracas that ensued as they challenged a referee\u2019s award of a \u2018dubious\u2019 goal in Nacala during a league match last month. He was eventually red-carded.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI will respect whatever they will decide. I am just hoping that they will be fair. A leading newspaper here has reported that I could be banned for a year maximum, but there is nothing I can do. Such things happen in football even Luis Suarez was banned for six months. My club has indicated that they will challenge whatever decision,\u201d Nthala added.<\/p>\n<p>Maxaquene coach and a team doctor, who both served red card suspensions when missing two games, are back working, but Nthala and a defender have been subjected to the further suspensions.<\/p>\n<p>Flames coach Ernest Mtawali, who is monitoring players in Mozambique ahead of next month\u2019s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Swaziland, recalled the former Be Forward Wanderers \u2018keeper last month.<\/p>\n<p>Recalled due to the dip in form of McDonald Harawa and Richard Chipuwa, Nthala was<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>enable to honour the call-up due to logistical reasons.
